Mickey participated in the Minneapolis Institute of Art's 
Art in Bloom for 15 years with 
her co-creator and friend 
Kristie Harrison. 
Since 2002 –the year the MIA 
started giving awards to

In 2009, Mickey competed as one of ten finalists for the MN Florist of the Year with the MN State Florist Association.

She also participated in the Iron Florist competition at the Northern Clay Center and took

1st place.

An avid gardener, her gardens have been shown on garden tours, including the prestigious Tangletown Gardens Tour, and have won the Minneapolis Blooms Award yearly since 2006. Her gardens have been photographed for Garden Gate and Midwest Home magazines. She is a sought-after speaker, demonstrator, and teacher of the art of flower arranging in the Twin Cities.
